Dear Arthur Gilmour

Thank you very much for replying. I tried to figure out how to get this contrast work to test the overall hypothesis AB-A/2-B/2=0. Setting weights for factor Genotype and predicting DPP gives me the results per DPP-level. I am interested primarily in the overall picture.
What I did is:

 pred <- predict.asreml( asr, classify="DPP", present=list("Genotype", prwts=c(-.5,1, -.5)))

according to your suggestion. At least I understood it that way. Is there way to get the result I want with ASReml-R or do I have to use the standalone version of ASReml?

Best regards,
   Andre
