This must be an R feature.... as we dont set any dimensional limits. It
may be interesting to get a sanitised version and play with it if you
could send it to me please

There is another way to put a lot of terms together using grp() function.
This is a neat way of grouping terms into a single factor and is easier to
use in ASReml-R I feel
