Prediction with genetic group

Dear all:

I compared the following two models with or without genetic groups specified.

(1)
...
y.ped !MAKE
y.dat !MAXIT 100
y ~ mu site set site.set group !r rep family site.family
predict mu site

(2)
...
y.ped !MAKE !GROUP 4
y.dat !MAXIT 100
y ~ mu site set site.set !r rep family site.family
predict mu site

The results from model (2) were comparable to that from model (1)
except that the predict statement did NOT work in (2). All levels of
site effect were non-estimable in (2).

Any comments for that? How can I use the predict statement when
genetic group is specified?
