Dear Rohullah,
re:
Is it efficiently suitable as genetic analysis software for a national
dairy evaluation center which deals with large data and pedigree(one
million animals) files and more complicated models such as random
regression model.
Further to Victors comments,
Victor has fitted some pretty big data sets to ASReml.
ASReml is really designed for analysing data to estimate variance
parameters and typically people have
used specialist BLUP software for routine evaluation. These are often
specially developed and so
represent a large investment (compared to what it costs to buy ASReml).
So you may need some specialist advice as to the implementation of a large
national dairy evaluation.
I have not been directly involved with such dairy evaluations but I'm sure
some ASReml users have.
May Jesus Christ be gracious to you,
Arthur Gilmour, His servant .
