Dear All,

I am working on a diallel data set of pine. The numbers of males and
females in the design are not equal.
The program gives a warning message in the output file (.asr) as follows:

" Warning: male and and(female) have different sizes [ 26 22]
They should be the same size with levels in the same order"

The command file is given below. Attached is the output file (.asr).
Thank you.

Fikret Isik

P.S. Details about the software and the system:
-ASReml v2
-Windows XP pro
-Parents used in the diallel are also mated to some other parents not
included in the diallel. This is the main reason for unbalanceness in
the number of females and males.
-From my previous experience, when the numbers of males and females are
not equal, the order of the terms in the model does matter. i.e.,
female and(male) is not the same as male and(female).

- The model is as follows:

 test 6 !I # number of locations
rep !I # blocks are nested within locations
 female !I
 male !I
 rust
 height
c:\research\tip\mw\ind_2.csv !SKIP 1 !DOPART 1

!PART 1
height ~ mu test rep.test !r,
male and(female) test.male and(female) male.female test.male.female
predict male
