Re: weighted least squares

Dear Hans,

Given that Tag is an identifier coded 1 ==> 117
I do not understand why you would want to weight on it
and there is no other obvious column of weights in the file.

Your job was

Analyses of wool traits of EF over Cooriedale
 Tag 117 !A
Yield MFD Medullation Curvature Bulk Y Y-Z
 Group 4 !A
 Age 3 !A
Woolll.dat !skip1 !MAXIT1
Yield MFD Medullation Curvature Bulk Y Y-Z !WT Tag ~mu,
  !f mu.Group mu.Age
 1 2 1
 0
 Trait 0 US

First you need to insert a missing value for Yield in animal C8

Second, you need to let the analysis iterate so no not use !MAXIT 1

Your analysis will run if you drop some of the traits & change it to

Analyses of wool traits of EF over Cooriedale
 Tag 117 !A
Yield MFD Medullation Curvature Bulk Y Y-Z
 Group 4 !A
 Age 3 !A
Woolll.dat !skip1 !MAXIT 10
Yield MFD Medullation Curvature Bulk Y Y-Z ~Trait,
  !f Trait.Group Trait.Age
 1 2 1
 0
 Trait 0 US

i.e. Ive run it with Yield MFD Medullation Curvature
    and with Bulk Y Y-Z

    It fails with all 7.

Are their mathematical relationships among the traits
or are some traits almost the same thing.
