Re: what's the meaning of the number in *.res

The number in this plot is the number of units that appear at a point.
So, if there are only a few observations, you will probably only see
1's.

In this case there are very many observations.
There are bigger numbers in the middle where the density is greatest,
1's tend to appear on the outside.

* means more than 9

It is an appoximation to the scatter plot that appears on the screen and
in the RvE.ps graphics file.
