standard error estimation

Hello all,

Can anyone tell me if it it possible to estimate standard errors on
functions of variance components that also involve fixed effect
parameters using ASReml. I'm under the impression that it isn't but just
thought I'd check.

More specifically I'm trying to work out how/if I can generate a SE
around a coefficient of additive genetic variation (i.e. (sqrt(VA)/mean)
where both the mean and the additive variance are estimated from an
animal model.

Best wishes,

Alastair
